Removed the zwave component from the configuration.yaml, stopped, removed and restarted the docker container, added the component through the GUI, everything now works.
Had the wrong usb_path in the configuration.yaml but fixing that and restarting HASS did not change anything. My Configuration.yaml file has a row for the Z-Stick: zwave:Īnd my z-stick appears to pair with my GE Z-Wave Plus Smart Control Dimmer Switch (press the z-stick button, flashing light, hold close to wall switch, use wall switch, z-stick light goes flashy) but no matter what I do, I can not get the wall-switch to appear in my Home Assistant dashboard.Ĭonfiguration.yaml appears to be working correctly because my Tuya component (Costco smart-bulbs) is working as expected.Īny ideas of where to look/start to resolve this? My docker host is Debian on a Dell r710 and have confirmed via 'ls /dev/tty*' that my Aeotec Z-Stick Gen 5 is /dev/ttyACM0. home/goingoffroading/local/homeassistant:/config
I have Home Assistant installed in a Docker container and am using HASS's official Docker Image: That gateway release was followed up in short order with the release of Aeotec Smart Home Hub and a range of SmartThings-compatible products.Hey r/homeassistant, very stoked to be here and was As Aeon Labs we did that for third-parties, often household names, by offering Original Equipment Manufacturing (OEM) and Original Design Manufacturing (ODM) services.
It uses a low power, and low bandwidth, mesh network that allows devices that aren’t within direct range of each other.

Aeotec followed up in short order by utilising technology acquired from the purchase of Popp to allow it to develop AutoPilot, the first automation software to be built upon 700 series Z-Wave technology. Founded in 2006 as Aeon Labs in Silicon Valley, Aeotec has long focussed its craft on the intelligent automation of electronics through sensor and data driven decision making. Aeon Labs Z-Stick Gen5 Most likely but not confirmed works also on: Vision USB stick Z-Wave Z-StickC Sigma UZB ZWave-Plus What is Z-Wave Z-Wave is a wireless communication protocol designed for home automation. After 90 years of pioneering home electronics and automating them, Aeotec continues to innovate being the first brand maker to certify and release devices which utilize 700 series Z-Wave technology. As part of the acquisition, and to reflect the engineering talent that came as part of its acquisition of Popp, Aeotec also used 2018 to also form a broader Aeotec Group and move its headquarters to Hamburg, Germany. in 1930, Popp’s tenured history had seen it pioneer many home-electronics technologies across Europe, first in the fields of electrical china, circuit breakers, and lamps before moving in to the fields of wall switches, electrical cables, and plugs in the 1950s. and focussed its efforts upon software and Zigbee technology for the first time. In late 2018 Aeotec acquired German electronics maker Popp & Co. But Aeotec’s experience is well beyond its years. They’re both decidedly new technological areas. Inclusion of either of these sticks is very easy. Recently I aquired the newest version of this stick ( Gen5 Z-Wave Plus) to replace it. All this sees Aeotec play in a space known to some as home automation and to others as the Internet of Things. I have an Aeotec Z-Wave Z-Stick S2 as a secondary hub. Later, as Aeotec, we crafted the same types of products to the same high-quality but this time we did it under our own brandname.
A modern company with nearly a century of experience.įounded in 2006 as Aeon Labs in Silicon Valley, Aeotec has long focussed its craft on the intelligent automation of electronics through sensor and data driven decision making.
